What is Essential Parent?

The Co-Founders of Essential Parent (EP) are Dr Rebecca Chicot, a Mother-Baby Attachment Expert from Cambridge University, and Diana Hill, a former documentary director from the BBC Science Department.

EP has created a world-class, award-winning selection of online video and written articles covering all the subjects listed above.

Each video and article is presented by medical experts from that field – so, for example, Professor Robert Winston, one of the founding fathers of IVF presents the Conception Course; the St John Ambulance presents the videos and articles on Baby First Aid; and a Breastfeeding Expert and Educator from UNICEF UK Baby Friendly presents the Breastfeeding articles and videos – and so on.

UNICEF UK Baby Friendly have approved all our breastfeeding and bottle feeding articles and videos.

Over 100 maternity hospitals in the UK show EP content on their wards.

EP is passionate about helping new parents and babies. We do a great deal of charity work including:

Providing all the visual resources for UK NCT teachers;

Providing DVDs of our baby care content to Mother & Baby units in UK prisons;

Providing DVDs for all the Barnardo’s Children’s Centres in the UK;

and much more.
