Teenage care & health

The teenage body is generally the most powerful and healthy of any human. Olympic athletes are often in their teens or early 20s. However, it can also be a time when parents have to watch out for things that might jeopardise this amazing strength and growth. There can be a lot of new issues for parents of teenagers to take on board. Not all teenagers go through these, but many start to experiment with increasingly risky behaviour – smoking, alcohol and drugs – many start to drive – and these combined can be really dangerous. On a less dramatic level, many teenagers don’t get enough sleep – and a lot of parents have no idea how much they really need. EP experts take you through the basics and can help you prepare for what can (sometimes!) be a tumultuous time.
