What is eCare?
eCare is Essential Parent’s a digital tech delivery system for our library of information made for parents, running from conception all the way to the teenage years. Health professionals can select and deliver tailored content to parents after their appointments.
As a parent you will receive bespoke bundles of content via email or text and register an account so you can have access to all the information you have been sent.
Why have I been sent a link about eCare?
Parents who have attended or missed appointments about their pregnancy or child will be sent a bundle of information and guidance to compliment the appointment and provide extra information that you can explore in your own time.
How do I access eCare?
Your health team will send you a link to your information and eCare will ask you to register with a username and password so that you can access the information you have been sent and browse the digital library. If you add your mobile number to your account, you will be able to receive information from your health team via text (SMS).
I have been sent an eCare invite but can’t access my account?
If you already have an account you can ask for a password reset or fill in our online form or contact Essential Parent direct at [email protected] for more help.
Can I reset my login or password for eCare?
Yes, you can request a password reset on the login page. It will be sent to the email address that we have on record for you.
What content is available?
The Essential Parent library includes information on:
- Conception and fertility
- Pregnancy and birth information
- Baby care 0-1

Can my partner or other carer have an account?
If your partner or another carer e.g., grandparent would like to access the bundles of information you can either ask your health professional to send them the same link so they can set up there own account or you can allow them to log in to your account as the information will be centred around your child (though there will be general information sent after appointments that provides support around birth, mental health and domestic violence. You may also be sent specific information about your pregnancy so may prefer to have your own account.
Why do you ask for extra information about my ethnicity, language and postcode?
Greater Manchester is evaluating eCare to see if parents and carers are happy to use the library and if they find it useful. Your health teams want to see if the system is helpful to parents and carers
- across the whole of Greater Manchester
- who speak languages other than English
- Of different ethnicities
- Who are supporting a child with special educational needs (SEND)
This will allow Greater Manchester to develop eCare so that it supports all parents and carers in Greater Manchester
